Wow, I can’t believe it is that time of the year again… The last day of the year… It feels like it only just started…How time flies…

As I reflect on everything that happened in 2013, I realise how fortunate I am to have close family and friends who consistently give me nothing short of unconditional love, support and encouragement in my private and professional lives. It is very difficult to express how grateful I am to them. They know their places in my heart.

This piece is however less about my family and friends and more about everyone else who has contributed in different ways, to making 2013 a huge success for me. Words can’t adequately describe my gratitude.

To my former colleagues, in more ways than one and probably without knowing, you helped sustain my motivation for most of the year like you have always done, especially during challenging times. You gave me the strength to aim for excellence everyday and for this I am truly grateful.

I am also very grateful to my current colleagues who warmly welcomed me when I joined my them and have been a continuous source of inspiration. You make me look forward to working everyday. Thank you.

Last, but definitely not the least, I am appreciative of every question, suggestion, criticism and general comment received from my blog audience. Your messages not only made me reflect more on my thoughts and published articles, but also provided ideas for future ones. My LinkedIn network has been particularly supportive. The engagement rate has been exceptional throughout this year, probably more than in all other years combined. I appreciate the time you have taken from your busy schedule to read my articles and contribute either on LinkedIn or here. Your feedback has been generally positive, which is quite encouraging.

2013 has been a year of many faces. There have been ups and downs, but if I am honest, a lot more ups than downs which I am grateful for.

One of my biggest challenges this year was making out enough time to write as many articles as I really want to, whilst managing a full time job with its own exciting challenges too. I have only the evening and weekends to write (and do a lot of other things), which is quite limiting. A focus of 2014 is to figure out the most time-efficient way to put “fingers to keyboard”. I would welcome all helpful suggestions where possible as I would like to avoid “reinventing the wheel”.

I also plan to continue responding to as many messages as I can, as quickly as possible. With the increasing number of messages received everyday, I know it will be really challenging, but nonetheless,  I am looking forward to doing my best.

As the year draws to an end, as we count the last hours, minutes and seconds, one of my hopes is that I have at least in a very small way, contributed to making your year a great one as you have to mine.

2014 looks promising and I look forward to more fruitful engagement with you.

Here is to a extraordinary year ahead…
